OVERVIEW
General Mathematics Book provides useful mathematical concepts in Algebra, Geometry, Business Mathematics and Logic. This core course prescribed in the K-12 pro¬gram of the Department of Education is designed to prepare the Senior High School students for a higher level of mathematics subjects, and related courses.
The book is intended for one semester and it contains four (4) Chapters.
- First, deals with the different forms of functions, operations on functions, finding their domains and ranges, sketching of graphs, and solving possible applications.
- Second, gives emphasis on rational functions, inverse functions, exponential and logarithmic functions. The importance of being a one-to-one function, the exponential and logarithmic equations and inequalities, and various real-life applications are discussed.
- Third, is about the basics of business mathematics. Aside from recalling the concepts of simple and compound interests, the chapter introduces the concepts of annui¬ties, stocks and bonds.
- Fourth, illustrates propositions, tautologies, fallacies, and syllogisms. It also presents the various methods of proof and disproof. It is the goal of this textbook to foster appreciation of the beauty and utility of Math. Have a wonderful journey of General Mathematics!
